This is the first full-length release under the Shi Toys name by label founders Mike Waters (Model Warships) and Edward Trethowan (NE Trethowan).

Put together between 2010 and 2014, Box Sisters twists between noise, ambient, collage and experimental electronics with predominantly positive intensities of emotion and a fair amount of absurdist, Joyceian humour.

There is a lot of light in this record, it conjures up the beach for me, so much so, that I kept expecting to hear Chris Rea's guitar intro from his On The Beach track cut in. I like this record, it is a happy experience, but I did think the children's voices were a bit overdone in places. This is a record that I can see myself returning to it over and over. Anthony Davies
